THE BEGINNING...

BRAZIL and JAPAN
Minol was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and moved to Japan with his family  when he was 11.
Minol started his training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) when he was 15 years old in Japan,
with Eduardo da Rocha, black belt 4th degree back then, now he is a Master Red and Black belt. Eduardo was a student of Grand Master Wilson Pereira Mattos and was living in Japan at the time.
Since then Minol has been training and learning the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

In 2002 Minol went back to Brazil to gain more knowledge of the
art under Master Wilson. He then returned to Japan to continue training and competing but once again went back to Brazil in 2004 where he received his Black Belt from Master Wilson and Eduardo da Rocha. After two years in Australia Minol returned to Japan again for his training and branching out to try something new began to fight amateur MMA under PRIDE where his talent was quickly spotted and he was invited to fight on the professional level at DEEP 2001.

TASMANIA, Australia
It all started when Minol came to Tasmania in 2003 and decided to take classes. The group was very small at the start but very dedicated. Slowly people started to show up and training more seriously. In the very first year of the club, we went to compete at the Pan Pacific Championships and had some Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalists which was a surprise for Minol. Students then had the motivation to train hard with the goal to become a Champion one day.
Although Minol has travelled a lot between Brazil, Japan and Australia he is now residing in Melbourne where he opened up another club and will continue to build up and make many more champions.

MELBOURNE, Australia
Minol moved to Melbourne with his family in 2012 to start a new journey of opening a club in the main land. At the start it was hard but Minol managed to find a place and open the Equipe Mestre Wilson Jiu-Jitsu Australia - Melbourne HQ inside a gym called Athletique Health Club who the owner is NABBA President and Mr Universe Graeme Lancefield who opened his club for Minol and saw the possibility to make hi weight lifting club with more options to the public. Today we have a bunch of good guys training hard and having fun at the same time and we are like a big family just the way Minol likes a club to be, and he always says "This is a club and not a business, we are a family and I rather have quality people than quantity."
