BRAZIL and JAPAN
Minol started his training in BJJ when he was 15 years old in Japan,
under Master Wilson's student Eduardo da Rocha, black belt 6th degree. Now Master Red and Black belt.
Since then he has been training and learning the art of jiu-jutsu.
In 2002 Minol went back to Brazil to gain more knowledge of the
art under Master Wilson. He then returned to Japan to continue training and competing but once again went back to Brazil in 2004 where he received his Black Belt from Master Wilson and Eduardo da Rocha. After two years in Australia Minol returned to Japan again for his training and branching out to try something new began to fight amateur MMA under PRIDE where his talent was quickly spotted and he was invited to fight on the professional level.
TASMANIA
It all started when Minol came to Tasmania in 2003 and decided to take classes. The group was very small at the start but very dedicated. Slowly people started to show up and as in many martial art academies,
we have our dedicated people,
just training for fun or fitness people,
and the lazy people. The group now is not that big but we are solid and loyal to our club. In the very first year of the club, we went to compete at the Pan Pacific Championships and had some Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalists which was a surprise for Minol. Students then had the motivation to train hard or the goal to become a Champion one day.
Although Minol has travelled a lot between Brazil, Japan and Australia he is now residing in Tasmania where he will continue to build up the club and make many more champions.
